What is the Glencoe Auction?

The annual auction is the major fundraiser for the Glencoe Foundation. The proceeds go right back into your school, providing Glencoe with our librarian, technical support, and an assortment of after-school clubs and activities.

Who should come to the event?

Everyone in our Glencoe community is invited and encouraged to attend. If you don’t normally attend school after-hours events, this is a great place to start, as the focus is on celebrating our community, eating and drinking together, and having fun while raising critically-needed funds for our school. If you are a new or newer Glencoe family with children in Kindergarten or First grade, and wondering how to find your “tribe” at school — guess what, you can meet them here! If you're pressed for time and can’t put in dozens of volunteer hours, this is one night when you can show up and make a big difference just by making a few purchases of things you probably wanted anyway, such as birthday party packages or weekend getaways.   Whether you are a parent or guardian, a teacher, or a staff member — this night is for all of us.

How do I get tickets?

Tickets are on sale now! You can get tickets for yourself, you and a date or buy a whole table for you and your friends. (Tables seat 8) Prices are $55.00 for a single ticket, $110.00 for a couples tickets or $440.00 for a table of 8.

How do I check in?

Once you buy tickets, you can check in at Glencoe the week before the auction (before and after school in the main hallway). If you don’t make it to school, no problem! You can also check in at PSU the night of the auction. You can vault your credit card, receive your bidder number and get your two drink tickets.

What happens during the event?

Guests arrive at the venue, check in and receive a bidder number. They will then use that number to bid on items that have been generously donated from businesses, Glencoe families, our children's classrooms, Glencoe teachers and staff. The items, along with their bid sheets, will be located on tables in the event space.

At this point, you have the opportunity to:
Write your bid and bidder number on the bid sheets of the items that interests you. Check back as often as you may need to outbid someone else! The highest bidder on each item will receive the item!
Sign up for our extraordinary parties!! These charge a flat rate but may be limited in space so sign up early! Don't miss your (or your children's) chance to attend these incredibly FUN parties!! Participate in the Live Auction fun! Bring your bidder number and your game face! Continue to party with your friends!

At the end of the evening, if you've won an auction item, go to the pickup table to retrieve your prize. If you've signed up for a party, the host(s) will contact you with further details.

What’s for dinner and drink?

There will be a delicious Korean Taco buffet, with plenty of varied dietary options. With your ticket, you’ll receive two tickets for beer, wine or non-alcoholic beverages during the silent auction 5:30 to about 7:30. Additional drinks may be purchased using your bidder number.

What should I wear?

While many like to dress for an evening out, please wear whatever is comfortable; pretty much anything goes (this is Portland after all!)

Are kids welcome?

For this event, this is an adult fundraiser only. Get a babysitter and enjoy the night out with fellow Glencoe parents and supporters.

Can’t make it to the auction, but you want to be a part of supporting the school, no worries!

* There are a bunch of “buy-in” parties available. A buy-in is a party or event hosted by a Glencoe community member that you can buy tickets to attend; all funds go to the Foundation. Go to glencoeauction.org for a list of all of them.
* There will also be a small online auction beginning on Monday, February 20th and continuing until March 3rd.
